The history of the Florio farm has its roots in the characteristic village of Aidone, where the same family has held an activity in the sector of services to tourist companies for more than 50 years. The passion for their land has made it possible to improve the values transmitted and to invest them into a great project.
Tenute Florio are therefore born from the idea of wanting to share the deep belonging to the land and the constant desire to protect it thanks, above all, to the privilege of having country rich in unspoiled naturalistic views, cultural insights and historical evidence.
Sharing Aidone with people who travel and who want to discover the wonders of the world is the mission of the camping, which is the reason why there is a strong necessity to give value to the Estate and also to provide inspiration to all who want to invest in native territory for the several next generations.
THE CAMPING
In the north-west area of Aidone, also known as the "Balcony of Sicily" and notoriously famous for the Goddes of Morgantina and the Archaeological Park, is the new trend of naturalistic tourism en plein air: theFlorio Camping Site.
The structure has been designed to accommodate everyone: families, hikers and eager for relax away from the chaos. The spot is strategic: located in a particular setting and on the slopes of a wood which perfectly reflects the typical features of the Mediterranean basin. The camping site is the right place for all of people who like to take a pleasant exploratory walk.
Our services include: camper area with charging station for electric vehicles; tents area, garden; pool; sun terrace and much more. The wood, pride of the whole estate, is available to the guests for healthy walks and pleasant excursions in which it will be possible to come across fruit tree crops and taste their goodness: walnuts, lemons, cherries, strawberries and other fruit season.
THE FRAGRANCES OF OUR ESTATE
On the sides of the forest and all around the estate, medicinal and aromatic plants which help spread the scents of lavender, oregano and rosemary into the air have been carefully sown. In addition, the area is surrounded by trees belonging to the Fagaceae family such as: oak, downy oaks, holm oaks and thorns and cork.
Lavander: the elegant lilac-toned plant is known for its relaxing and anti-inflammatory properties, especially if oil is obtained from the dried flowers, an essence extract used in many contexts, including in the kitchen. Guests, during their stay, can collect and dry them.
Oregano: spice that is usually used in cooking to flavor various recipes, it has a known digestive power if it is prepared as an infusion in hot water; it also has benefits for its calming, analgesic and expectorant properties. The guests of the camping can participate in the harvesting, drying and subsequent tasting, together with the estate's oil.
Rosemary: one of the most recognizable scents in the kitchen, unmistakable aroma, various anti-neuralgic and antiseptic properties. The rosemary sprigs are used to flavor meat dishes but also to prepare decoctions that facilitate digestion. Guests can collect the twigs and keep them as a souvenir of their stay in Sicily.
